Though the palace was built by the Malla rulers, the Shah regime of monuments are stored. Outside the palace is courtyards, and pagoda style temples. Right across the palace is Kumari Ghar the residence of living goddess.
From Basantapur, we head to Swayambhunath, the monkey temple. The stupa is surrounded by the souvenirs shop, monasteries and galleries. The ambience of the stupa is religious, spiritual and lively.
Our next destination for the day shall be Pashupatinath temple, the world’s most scared temple which holds a strong religious believe in the Hindu community. The temple is visited by a large number of Hindu disciples every year. Alongside the main temple flows Bagmati river, which has significant values.
The Newari civilization never fails to amaze us. And the culture and tradition today are still preserved by the community in Patan and Bhaktapur. Patan, the city of fine arts, can never betray your eyes. The skillful architectures, and art craved in the woods and metal keeps us make us want to know more about the civilization in 12th century. Inside Patan we visit the Patan Durbar Square, Krishna Mandir, and Golden temple. While in Bhaktapur, we explore the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, 55-windows palace, art gallarey, and Nyatapola temple.
From Kathmandu we drive to Pokhara. The time taken to reach the destination is 7-8 hours. On reaching the gateway of Pokhara, we get rewarded with the magnificent view of the Himalayas including the five peak of Annapurna ranges, and the Machhapuchre. As the traveling gets exhausted, we take a break for few minutes and then proceed with the exploring journey. We stroll around the nearest destinations. We take a walk to Davids Fall, and the nearby located Gupteshwor cave.
No matter how many times you visit Pokhara the city never fails to amaze the explorer. The city is absolutely fun filled, happening and blessed with natural resources. Just 125 km away from Pokhara is Tansen. The hill town offers a spectacular view of the snow-covered mountain peaks. During the clear days, the Dhaulagiri range and Manslu can be clearly seen. Tansen is very popular for Dhaka woven clothes. From there, we straightly move to Lumbini which is just 75 km away.
Lumbini is the most religious place for the Buddhist religion. We dedicate the entire day visiting the inside heritages of Lumbini. The whole of Lumbini demonstrates the pagodas and monasteries built in other Buddhist religion countries. There are Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and more countries flaunting their architecture. The popular Mayadevi temple too resides in the same territory. The temple showcases the preserved footprints of Lord Buddha, while in the outer surrounding, there is Ashoka pillar and the religious tree decorated with colorful flags.
From Lumbini we straightly drive to Chitwan, the time taken is nearly 4-5 hours. The Lumbini-Chitwan road is filled with Industries. The roadway is quite interesting as it takes us in between the lusty forests and smaller residential areas.
On arrival to Chitwan the first thing we do is take a refreshment break, and then proceed with a nature walk. A local guide shall assist us towards the jungle. In the jungle, we get to see the old hotels built by the Nepalese rulers. We will see crocodiles floating in Rapti river. We also pass through elephant stables, and finally reside on the banks of Rapti to take a pleasant view of the sunset.
Today we shall explore the deepest part of Chitwan. In the morning we shall take a preliminary walk inside the National Park by mounting on the elephants back. From the elephant height, the whole of silent flowing Rapti river is seen. The safari takes us to the inner dense part of the jungle. The only sound we hear is of a chirping bird, and ruffling noise of leaves. Early morning is the best time for the safari as animals such as one horned Rhinos, Deers are seen drinking water in Rapti river. From safari we visit enjoy elephant bathing, visit the elephant breeding center, crocodile breeding center, take a jeep safari to explore more of the inner circles of the forest. We also take a floating safari in Rapti river, where we shall explore the acquitting plants, floating crocodiles, and the land birds & animals. One can also indulge in bird watching activity during canoeing, as the jungle is the homeland of more than 400 birds. In the evening we take a halt to explore the tribal village and community of Tharu and enjoy the final settling view of sun behind the still river of Rapti.
The time we have spent in Chitwan will surely come as a flashback while we return back. The place is so heart filled that it makes the travelers want more of it. But, as we have a flight to catch next day, we have to move on. While returning back, we travel through the plains of terai and later join a hilly roadway. Again, we encounter the vivacious Trishuli river flowing in the mountainous passage. After a 5-6 hours’ drive, we finally reach Kathmandu. A farewell dinner is planned as a closing ceremony in the evening, where we shall eagerly take your opinion of the entire trip.
