The 18 days Lobuche East Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp trek is quintessentially popular expedition to gain the amazing views of Everest Peaks like Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8414m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Mount Everest (8848m), Thamserku (6608m) and to experience the rich legendry Sherpa culture through the landscape of Khumbu region. Lobuche East Peak lies in the northern side of Khumbu region, resting quietly in an altitude of 6,119m (20,075 ft) offering a spectacular view of the Everest region. To ascend the peak, one needs to take a permit from the National Mountaineering Association (NMA), of Nepal. Besides the stunning snowcapped views, we go through the villages of Lukla, Namche Bazar, Tengboche, Lobuche, and Dingboche. Lobuche with Everest Base Camp is a classic trek, where climbers are required to make use of gears such as slingers, crampons, and ice axes. As the climbers must be physically and mentally sound, this day is assigned as a rest day. On this day, we shall brief the schedule planned for the remaining days. And make the climbers familiar with the gears used during the ascending of Lobuche East Peak. The remaining day can be utilized for either rest or exploring purposes.

Through private transfer, we reach Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and catch a flight to Lukla. The 40-minute flight can be a scenic one and gives a lifetime experience.
On arriving at Lukla airport, which is based at the height of 2,860m (9383ft), surrounded by local eateries, Sherpa shops, and lodges. We shall greet the remaining team members and proceed to Phakding.
We walk down to Dudh Koshi river and follow a thin trail towards the suspension bridge to reach the village. Phakding is a small Sherpa village, which resides in the Khumbu region. In the north side of Phakding, lies the flowing Dudh Koshi River, and in south Monjo.

Ascending the Himalayan pine and cedar forests, we follow Dudh Koshi River to reach the Namche Bazar. We cross the terrace hill till we arrive Bengar. The path we take has several ups and downs, taking us to the lusty forests, where we shall cross Hillary Bridge (the highest suspension bridge) and suspension bridge, navigating us to the Sagarmatha National Park.
After taking permits, we descend downwards to Dudh Koshi River and take a route to Jorsale.
A few hours walk from Jorsale and we reach Namche Bazar. The rural municipality of Namche resides at a height of 3,440m (11,286 ft). Surrounding the valley in the west is Kongde Ri (6,187m) and in the east is Thamserku (6,623).
This area is the popular acclimatization point for trekkers and a trading hub for the Sherpa community.

The first acclimatization day of the 18-day Lobuchhe East Peak. Though the day is set aside for the resting purpose, we shall be taking a leap to the nearest trekking destination to cope with the higher altitude.
We will wander around the Sagarmatha National Park or to Syangboche Airport (3700m) and to Thame. The one-hour hike is sure to release an outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Kusum Kangaru.
On our way back to Namche Bazar, we shall visit Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the Sherpa culture and local outlets of Namche Bazar.

From Namche Bazaar we proceed to Deboche. Before that, we come across Tengboche by crossing the rhododendron forests. The backdrop offered by the Himalayan range is spectacular. The walk to Tengboche will lead us towards the settlement and to the oldest monastery, Tengboche Monastery. The monastery holds religious importance hence every year on ‘Mani Rimdu’ Sherpas living in the Khumbu region visit the place.
Leaving Tengboche we head to Deboche. We take a gentle descent to Imja Khola, to the dense settlement in the Everest region. While moving forward to Deboche (3820m/ 12,530 ft) we no longer see the dense vegetation, however, the journey continues and finally rests in at Deboche village.

We climb down to the forests, cross Imja Khola and move towards Pangboche village, the highest permanent settlement of Khumbu region. From here we no longer see tall vegetation, instead, we see shrubs and desolate landscapes. However, we select the upper trial of Pangboche trail which offers a pristine glaze of the Himalayan vistas. On the way, we shall encounter another Buddhist monastery; Pangboche monastery. After a moderate walk, the valley unfolds the vision of Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Everest and other associated peaks. Through the open pastures, we land at ‘Dingboche’, snuggling at the elevation of 4360m (14,300 ft).
Dingboche lies in the northeastern region of Khumbu region, in the Chhukung valley.

The second acclimatization of the 18 days Lobuche East Peak and Everest Base Camp hike. The intention of acclimatization is for the relaxation purpose, however, as we need to overcome the altitude issues, a short trip to nearby destination Chhukung is planned.
The walk takes us to the stone-walled fields, Imja Khola valley, and to glacier moraines. The amble will be surrounded by a much closer view of Mt. Lhotse, Mt.Ama Dablam while on reaching Bibre village we see the highlands of Island Peak.
After returning from the hike to Dingboche, we shall check the gears and equipment’s and wander inside the Dingboche settlement.

We gradually ascend the glaciers and follow the trail to Dzongla, a junction of Cho La Pass, Lobuche, and Pheriche. Enjoying the stunning view of Mt.Lhotse, Mt.Makalu, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Cho Oyu, we climb the debris of Khumbu Glaciers.
From there we go through the boulder-strewn slopes while ascending Chupki Lhara.
On the way to Thukla Pass we shall find the array of stones, prayer flags, and tributaries who lost their lives while climbing Everest. Before reaching Lobuche we walk through the Yak pastures. On reaching Lobuche we see the peak dividing Nepal and Tibet.
The Lobuche village is situated at the foot of Khumbu Glacier and hence it shares the name with Lobuche peaks.

We walk slowly to Khumbu Glacier as the elevation can be a struggling one due to thin air. We pass through dunes, moraines and streams before reaching the Everest Base Camp.
Peaks such as Khumbutse, Lingtren and Changtse tower starts to become visible. Slowly we march to Gorak Shep, a small settlement which sits at the edge of 5,164 m (16,942 ft). The habitat is inside the Sagarmatha National Park and is known as the ‘launching pad’ for ascension to Kala Patthar.
On reaching Gorak Shep, we settle down for a few hours and move to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/ 17,594 ft). While walking through the glaciers we feel the adrenaline.
The Everest Base Camp is a rocky area right below Mount Everest. There are two base camps in Everest, one in the north and the other one in the south. The one we shall climb is a northern camp which is at an altitude of 5,364 m (17,598 ft). The base camp serves as an acclimatization area for the Everest climbers, hence we see the colorful camps surrounded by a pleasant view of Pumori, Nuptse, and Khumbutse.
After spending a few hours, we return back to Gorak Shep and spend overnight.

The ascending of Kala Patthar commences from Gorak Shep. The walk trail becomes steep before reaching the summit edge. While moving upwards, we shall encounter the colorful flags and get a close-up view of Everest. However, the view of the summit tip is blocked by Nuptse.
The Kala Pathar hike is very much on demand for the rising sun and the setting sun. As there is a strong chance of cloud coverage in the evening, it becomes difficult to trace back the walking trial. Hence, from Gorak Shep, we march early in the morning, to Kala Pathar for a very beautiful sunrise. We spend a few hours and capture the divine images of Makalu (8481m), Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Ama Dablam (6812m) and Lhotse (8516m).
From there, we descend to Lobuche 4940m (16,207 ft) and stay overnight.

From Lobuche the journey move to the Lobuche high camp. We make our way through the village and mountains, which includes the steep climbing of Lobuche Glacier. On the way, we enjoy the splendid stance of Pokhalde, Cho Latse, Thamserku, Kantega and other associated Himalayas.
The two-hour walk ends at the Lobuche High Camp, which is at 5400m (17,712 ft). On arrival, we rest, set our camps and get ready for the next day. The experience climbers shall further brief about the techniques and components needed to ascend the Lobuche East Peak summit.
A session is conducted in regard to ice climbing and the usage of ropes. Though a theory session was conducted in Kathmandu itself, we believe a practical session before climbing the peak brings clarity.

The Final Summit Day. At 2 am the early morning we start the journey. The climbing begins from a rocky trail towards Crampon point, which nearly takes 2-3 hours. From their we use the equipment used for climbing. We thrive to Lobuche glacier, where at steep portions, ropes are fixed. We shall scale upwards as per the instructions of the team leader.
Lobuche East Peak is difficult to climb, as there are no ladders or crevasses. To fully climb the peak the time taken is 9 to11 hours, hence we make sure to reach Lobuche Peak by noon.
At a height of 6,119m (20070 ft), the East Peak summit offers a radiant view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and Mt.Pumori. Spending a few hours, we walk downwards to High Camp. Spending few hours in High Camp, we shall take a trail to Thukla Cross from where we shall en route to Pheriche, which is above the Tsola River, at a height of 4240m (13907 ft).

We have kept this day as a contingency day as there are chances of change in weather conditions. Further, the few team members might get altitude sickness, hence, to prevent further dramatic issue, we will mostly take a break on the 14 days. However, if everything goes fine, then we can plan for the next scheduled route.

From Pangboche, we will descend downwards, to join the gateway of Everest Base Camp, Namche Bazar. From the extreme white landscape, we shall be walking through the lustrous green forest and a mighty view of Mt. Ama Dablam passing Tengboche, before making a final landing in Namche Bazar. The steep step needs a careful walk, but after certain hours we follow the trail of Dudh Koshi gorge and Sansa. On the way, we can look out for Yaks, Himalayan goats, Colorful Pheasants, and Snow Leopards. After passing the final Chortans, we reach Namche Bazar.

The descending plan is eventually simple than the ascending one as we are pretty much familiar with the pathways. On the way back to Lukla, we pass several Sherpa settlements and cross the suspension bridges over the flowing Dudh Koshi River. The trek towards Lukla will make everyone enjoy the hallmarks of the Himalayan terrain. We will cross the mani walls, prayer wheels, and rivers in multiple places.

Recollecting the memories of the past 17 days we board the flight Kathmandu. The 40 minutes flight from Lukla to Kathmandu will be given a birds-eye experience of the Himalayas to the trekkers. On arrival at Kathmandu, we shall transfer to the hotel and take a short refreshment.
A complimentary Half City Tour is available for the trekkers who are further willing to navigate the history of Kathmandu. We shall walk and connect the lane of Indrachowk, Ason and then move forward to Basantapur (Kathmandu Durbar Square), the palace built by Malla regime. We will explore the nearby areas, shops, and markets and return to the hotel.
In the evening, a fine gala dinner is organized by Best Adventure Travels, where we shall discuss the experience of the 18 days Lobuche East Peak and EBC trip with Best Adventure Travel and enjoy the achievement

The 18 days- Lobuche East Peak with Everest Base Camp trek comes to an end. Best Adventure Travels will provide a private transfer to the trekkers as per their flight schedule.

Single supplement will be available in Kathmandu and partially in mountains on request and will cost an additional USD 350.

We will have breakfast dinners in the lodges from their menu and lunch will be provided in the tea houses while walk every day.
