Our one day- Kathmandu sight-seeing tour provides a closer glance of Nepalese culture, tradition, heritages, rituals and architectural marvels. The tour designed by Best Adventure Travels takes the explorer to the five eccentrics inside Kathmandu valley – Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Baudha Nath, and Pashupatinath temple, that holds culture and religious importance to Nepalese people.
Our trip begins from the soul of Kathmandu city, the Kathmandu Durbar Square. The place is steeped with the ancient Nepalese Culture practiced in the 16th century. Surrounding the Malla palace is the religious Taleju Bhawani temple, Kumari Ghar (the residence of living goddess) and Kasthamndap temple (temple built from the woods of single tree). The area is lively, filled with Nepalese teenagers, souvenirs sellers and traditional eateries.
From there our next destination is the UNESCO listed World Heritage Site, Swayambhunath Stupa, located in the nearest hilltop inside Kathmandu. The hill releases religious essence, as its one of the most worshipped stupas by the Buddhist religion. Secondarily, it offers a scenic view of the whole Kathmandu, and its neighboring mountains. Swayambhunath ages way back to 2,5000 years. The monument is topped with colossal dome stupa with four mystical eyes of Buddha overlooking four directions. The place is surrounded by forests, with hundreds of monkey dwelling around the stupa.
Surrounded by the green vegetation, Pashupatinath Temple, is situated in the banks of Bagmati river. The main temple of Lord Shiva is surrounded by small deities which makes the ambience of the temple a scared paradise. From Pashupatinath temple we drive towards the north reaching Baudhanath Stupa. The place is also famous as, “The Little Tibet” of Nepal due to strong influence of Tibetan culture, religion and tradition. Before gaining popularity from the religious aspects, the stupa was built for the ancient route trade between Nepal and Tibet. In Baudha, we shall not only appreciate the deity dome but also marvel the spectacular architecture of the ancient Nepal.
The 1 day-Kathmandu Seeing can be customized. The trip is carried out through the month of January to August and October to December.
