DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

On your arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be escorted to your Hotel. After resting for a while, you will join our guide for a sightseeing tour. Stroll around the city of Paro for the rest of the day. Dinner & overnight stay will be at your Hotel.

Today, you will hike to Tiger’s nest monastery. The journey of 2-3 hours is fulfilling as you will pass by beautiful villages & pine forests. The Taktsang Monastery(tiger’s nest monastery), built in the 17th century is now the most photographed place in Bhutan. Later in the evening, you will head back to your Hotel.

Today you will pass by the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong with the perfect backdrop of Chomolhari mountain. The trek begins with a dirt road for one hour which leads you to the Paro Chu(river). you will have your overnight stay at Shana Camp.

Leaving Shana camp, you will leave for Soi Than Thangka where the trail follows the Pachu river. You will stop by the river for lunch near the wooden bridge & continue to hike till you reach Soi Thangthankha. It takes 7-8 hours to reach Soi Thangthankha. Overnight: Soi Thangthangkha.

Scaling up to Sio Thangthangkha, you will head for Jangothang. After a gradual climb, you will reach army camp & soothe your eyes with stunning surroundings. Later you will stop by Yak herders for lunch. Post lunch, you will continue your journey till teasing views of Chomolhari Mountains pops right up. Overnight: Jangothang

Today is a leisure day for you. So prepare yourself to capture your best shots or indulge yourself in exploring the surrounding areas -Jangothang, Tshophu lake.

Today you will take the gradual climb up the ridge To Lingishi. Catch the delightful Chomolhari, including Jichu Drake & Tshrim mountain views.

Later you will come across an open valley & hike to Neyele La pass. On reaching Lingshi Dzong, you will settle down near the stone shelter for overnight stay.

Today you will hike early in the morning & head towards Shodu. You will walk through the valley opposite the Dzong until you reach Yale la pass, the highest point of the Chomolhari Trek.

On reaching the point, You’ll witness the stunning view of Mt. Chomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tshrim Gang. Continuing the journey you will reach Shodu, covering 7-8 hours.

On this day, you will head to Barshong while following the Thimchupu chu river. En-route you will encounter the rhododendron, juniper and pine trees.  Enjoy the view of the stunning cliff facing rocks & majestic waterfall along the way. As you continue the trail, you will end up to the Barshong Dzong Ruins.

Starting from Barshong (3680 m) and camping at Dolam Kencho (3430 m) the trail descends gently down to reach Thimphu Chhu through the thick Rhododendron wood, birch, coniferous trees and pastureland.

Today is the final day of Chomolhari trek, you will head to Dodina through bamboo & pine forests. On reaching Doina, you’ll be escorted by pickup coach to Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel in Thimpu.

After having breakfast, you will be escorted to Paro International Airport by our representative .This wraps our 12 days Chomolhari trek.
