From Pokhara airport, we drive for an hour or two to Kimchi. The real trek begins from Kimchi, as our destination for the day will be Ghandruk.
Ghandruk, is a small town with a slim population of Gurung ethnicity. The settlement is surrounded by highlands advancing the outstretched ranges of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Macchapuchre, and Himchuli.
An hour trek from Kimchi, we reach Ghandruk village, where we shall be overwhelmingly welcomed by the Gurung community.

From the gateway of Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), Ghandruk, we mount to Kimrungadanda, later following the soft aisle of Kimron Khola (1700m) to Chere Danda. The walk continues to Chhomrong (2170m/7120 ft), which is the nerve center of the Annapurna Sanctuary. The habitat is spread over the hillside with a looming view of Machhapuchre, early morning.
Chhomrong is filled with lodges and shops. Most of the evening a cultural program is conducted by the Gurung tribe as a fund-raising event.

Taking the rocky pathway, we descend 2500 steps and cross Chhomrong Khola. We move higher, at an elevation of 2360m, at Hilltop Village, also known as Sinwa. The area is partially inclined with a longest uphill climb with a permanent settlement. Another steep ascent we pass through Kuldihar and walk to Bamboo (2310/7578ft).

Primarily, we enjoy the absolute bliss of the pristine mountains, from where we proceed to Kuldi Ghar, which connects the crossway to Modi Khola Valley.
The route of Bamboo to Deurali allows a pleasant hike to a jaded the Bamboo forest. The area is calm, cold, damp and steep. The trek enters the Dovan (2630m), while the forests open after reaching the Himalayan hotel.
A much steeper climb before landing in Hinku cave, the passage gets closer to the river before climbing Deurali valley. The sight gets much clearer, allowing crystal view of the valley and waterfalls.

Walking on the sideways of river (bagar), we head for the tedious climb to Macchapuchre Base Camp (3700m/12135ft). The trek connects with the prominence of Annapurna massif (Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna and others). As we walk higher the vegetation changes from sub-tropical to alpine.
From Machhapucher, the Annapurna Base Camp trek takes around 2 hours. The white picturesque landscape starts to dazzle the pupil from its gateway. After all those stupendous climbs to Annapurna Base Camp and Machhapuchre Base Camp, we leave for Jhinu Danda, an uphill climb to Kuldighar, Sinuwa danda, and downhill descend to Chhomrong Khola.
The Chhomrong village diverts the route to Pokhara, but before that we reach hot spring at Jhinu Danda. A dip on the hot natural spring relaxes the muscles aches, and soars. The hot tub is somewhere nestled in between the forests and high-end landscapes, nearby Modi River.

Following the rolling green hills, and flowing rivers, from Bamboo we trek to Siwai. The downward movement is lot more comfortable hence, the trail descends crossways to Siwai. The 5 hours trek from Bamboo to Siwai is not muscle soaring, so without any delay we drive back to Pokhara.
Pokhara, the valley filled with mysteries and mountains. The deepest George of Kali Gandaki, the secretive flow of Sethi River, the serenity of Begnas tal and Phewa lake, the place is worth to explore. Climbers can execute their own plans for the remaining day.
